Job description

Description

At Helping Hands, we've been supporting people to live independently in the place they love for over 35 years. Everything we do is built on kindness – and that extends to our colleagues too.

We're looking for a highly organised Learning and Development Coordinator to join our People Team and play a key role in helping our colleagues learn, develop and thrive. If you enjoy coordinating projects, supporting people and improving processes, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the development of our teams across the business.

About the role
As our Learning and Development Coordinator, you'll help ensure our learning programmes run smoothly, our apprenticeship schemes are well managed and our learning systems provide a great experience for colleagues.

Working closely with the Learning and Development Manager and wider People Team, you'll coordinate learning activities, support colleagues with learning enquiries, administer our Learning Management System (LMS) and help us continuously improve how we develop our people.
No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating learning events, workshops and webinars across the business.
  • Providing first-line support for learning, development and apprenticeship enquiries.
  • Managing and maintaining our Learning Management System (LMS), including system updates, testing and user support.
  • Producing reports to monitor compliance and measure the effectiveness of learning programmes.
  • Supporting apprenticeship programmes, including working with training providers and administering the Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS).
  • Building positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external learning partners.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve learning processes, systems and colleague experience.
  • Providing administrative support to ensure learning initiatives are delivered efficiently.

What you’ll bring

You'll be an organised and proactive administrator who enjoys supporting others and delivering an excellent service. You'll have strong attention to detail, be confident using systems and data, and enjoy working collaboratively across different teams.

You'll also have:
  • Experience coordinating learning, development, HR or people-related programmes.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience producing reports and working with business systems.
It would be great if you also have:
  • Experience of Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience supporting apprenticeship programmes.
  • Knowledge of the health and social care sector.
  • An understanding of competency-based learning or regulatory training requirements.

Why Helping Hands?

At Helping Hands, we're passionate about supporting our colleagues to build rewarding careers. When you join us, you'll become part of a supportive team where your ideas are valued and your development matters.
You'll also enjoy:
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing to 27 days with length of service, plus bank holidays.
  • Hybrid working.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Blue Light Card membership.
  • Refer a Friend scheme.
  • Access to excellent learning and development opportunities.
  • Career progression within one of the UK's leading home care providers.
If you're passionate about helping people grow and want to play a key role in developing colleagues across our organisation, we'd love to hear from you.

Helping Hands has been providing quality home care since 1989. Today we are one of the largest and most experienced providers of live-in care in England & Wales.

Whether it’s short-term respite, convalescent or companionship care, Helping Hands Home Care is often the solution which enables you to stay in your own home.

We operate a premier care service that enables independence and choice while providing comfort, companionship and support - whether it's for half an hour a week or 24 hours a day.

Our carers are the heartbeat of Helping Hands - the perfect ambassadors for care. We are incredibly proud of them and the impact they have on the lives of those they care for.
