We are looking for a Senior Claims Specialist to work predominantly on our Inherent Defects Construction book (m/f/d), based in London, UK.

Your Team

Allianz is committed to delivering on our claims promise. To achieve that mission, you will work collaboratively with a growing, technically excellent team based in London and join a network of more than 650 claims experts around the world.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Head of Property, Natural Resources and Construction Claims, you will be delivering effective and efficient claims adjusting of our Construction and Natural Resources claims. You will have strong experience of claims handling, loss adjusting or a legal background. The role will operate across the two Lines of Business but will heavily focus on our Construction Inherent Defects book of business, so strong construction experience is essential.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Create and maintain peer level relationships with brokers.
• Manage a portfolio of clients and be the main entry point for all their claims.
• Handle from FNOL to conclusion claims of varying degrees of complexity and value, incl. reporting and referrals.
• Train and develop the team and be a technical referral point for other Claims Handlers.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Operations and Global teams.
• Participate in IT/digital projects to share your technical insights as a Subject Matter Expert.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• Specialised understanding of Construction claims.
• Experience handling Inherent Defect claims is advantageous.
• An understanding of Natural Resources claims is advantageous but not essential.
• Detailed understanding of the insurance markets and competitor landscape.
• A solid understanding of coverage principles, products, wordings, terms, and conditions.
• Understanding of relevant reserving, legal framework, processes, guidelines, and litigation management.
• Well recognised relationship building with brokers at peer group level.
• Experience in working in complex, global matrix organization.
• Positive team spirit and an excitement to learn.
• Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyse, study, and examine data in detail, and draw appropriate conclusions.
• You should be able to integrate AI-driven insights into your work to optimize outcomes and support broader organizational goals.
• CII qualifications are advantageous.
