Job description

About The Role Building Safety Technician £28,472 per annum 37 hours per week, Permanent contract Witney/ agile working At West Oxfordshire District Council, we're looking for a highly organised and proactive individual to join our Building Control team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of Building Control services while taking ownership of the day-to-day administration of the new Building Safety Levy.

In this varied role, you'll oversee the day-to-day administration of the Building Safety Levy, including issuing notices and invoices, monitoring compliance, maintaining accurate records and responding to enquiries from applicants, agents, colleagues and members of the public.

You'll also support the wider Building Control service by processing Building Regulations applications, calculating fees, maintaining statutory records, preparing performance data and reports, and providing routine technical advice.

From liaising with customers to carrying out occasional site visits and supporting service improvements, you'll be an integral part of a professional and collaborative team.

We're looking for someone with strong organisational and time management skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.

You'll have experience in an administrative role, be confident using Microsoft and Google applications, and have a good understanding of financial processes such as invoicing and payment tracking.

Experience within local government or a public sector environment, and knowledge of Building Control or related regulatory processes, would be an advantage but isn't essential.
