SEMH Teacher – Cramlington (Full-Time)

Help young people rebuild confidence, reconnect with learning and recognise what they can achieve.

Protocol Education is recruiting a full-time SEMH Teacher to join a specialist educational setting in Cramlington. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who understands that positive relationships are the foundation of meaningful progress. You'll work with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, delivering engaging lessons while helping learners develop emotional resilience, confidence and a more positive relationship with education.

You'll bring patience, creativity and consistency to the classroom, creating a safe and structured environment where pupils feel understood, supported and ready to learn.

Why work with Protocol Education?

We understand that specialist teaching requires the right environment and the right support. Our dedicated consultants will take the time to understand your experience and teaching style before matching you with a role where you can thrive.

You'll receive:

  • Weekly PAYE pay, with no umbrella companies
  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy
  • SEND, SEMH and Behaviour Management training
  • A dedicated local education consultant
  • Long-term and permanent teaching opportunities
  • Interview preparation and CV support
  • Ongoing professional and wellbeing support

What you'll be doing

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
  • Building strong and respectful relationships with pupils
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs
  • Planning around EHCP outcomes and personalised targets
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and pastoral teams
  • Monitoring progress and adjusting strategies where needed
  • Creating a calm, inclusive and structured learning environment

What we're looking for

You'll hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a genuine commitment to supporting young people who may need a different approach to learning.

You'll also be:

  • Patient, resilient and adaptable
  • A confident classroom practitioner
  • A clear and empathetic communicator
  • Creative in your approach to teaching
  • Committed to inclusive education

Previous SEMH or SEND experience is welcomed, although teachers looking to move into specialist education are encouraged to apply.

Who this role would suit

  • SEMH Teachers
  • SEND Teachers
  • Mainstream Teachers seeking a new challenge
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
  • Teachers looking for a rewarding long-term role

Apply today and help young people take positive steps towards a brighter future.
