Are you an experienced private client tax professional looking for greater autonomy, more complex advisory work and the opportunity to help shape a growing tax function?

Our client is a high-growth tax and strategic advisory firm working with entrepreneurs, business owners, high-net-worth individuals and families across the UK and internationally.

Following significant year-on-year growth, the firm is looking to appoint a Private Client Tax Manager who can take ownership of senior client relationships and deliver commercially focused advice across a broad range of complex personal tax matters.

This is an opportunity to work with the calibre of clients and technical assignments often associated with a larger firm, but within a modern, entrepreneurial environment where you will have genuine visibility and influence.

The Opportunity

You will manage a portfolio of high-value private clients, including entrepreneurs, company directors, business owners and families with significant personal and generational wealth.

The work will be predominantly advisory-led. Clients may be preparing to sell a business, restructuring their personal affairs, planning for succession, relocating internationally or considering how best to protect and transfer wealth to future generations.

You will work closely with the firm’s senior leadership team, leading complex assignments and becoming a trusted adviser to clients whose personal, family and business interests are often closely connected.

Rather than simply responding to tax matters as they arise, you will take a proactive approach, identifying planning opportunities and helping clients make informed long-term decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing relationships with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals
• Advising entrepreneurs, shareholders, company directors and privately wealthy families
• Delivering advice on income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax
• Supporting clients with succession, estate and intergenerational wealth planning
• Advising shareholders before and after business sales, investments and other transactions
• Providing guidance on trusts, family investment companies and other wealth-holding structures
• Supporting clients with residence, domicile and international personal tax matters
• Working alongside corporate tax and transaction specialists where clients have connected business interests
• Reviewing complex technical work and ensuring consistently high standards
• Helping to coach and develop less experienced members of the tax team
• Identifying opportunities to broaden client relationships and improve service delivery
• Contributing to the continued development of the firm’s private client tax offering

You will be trusted to manage your own relationships, lead advisory conversations and use your judgement rather than working within a rigid corporate structure.

For the right person, the package may also include significant performance-related bonus incentives and the potential for longer-term equity participation.

What We’re Looking For

You will already have a strong background in private client tax and be comfortable advising clients on complex and sensitive financial matters.

Ideally, you will have:

• CTA, ACA, ACCA, CA or an equivalent professional qualification
• Strong private client or personal tax advisory experience
• Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs or business-owning families
• Knowledge of income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax
• Exposure to trusts, succession planning or wealth structuring
• The ability to interpret legislation and apply it to complex real-life situations
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead senior client conversations
• Experience reviewing work and supporting the development of junior colleagues
• International private client tax experience would be advantageous
• A proactive, commercial and relationship-led approach
