We’re looking for an experienced, committed, and enthusiastic individual to work in our small dietetic team. You will have the opportunity to develop clinical skills and we will support you with training, to reach your potential and excel. You will be supported by a lead community dietician and work alongside the community nursing team and we’ll provide you with the support you need to grow as a professional within this extremely rewarding role. Main duties of the job Working closely with a broad multidisciplinary team including paediatricians, children’s community nurses, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, health visitors, social workers, you will be responsible for providing dietetic support to infants and children who have complex health conditions and/or learning disabilities and who require tube feeding. With leadership from your dietitian team lead and support from a full‑time dietetic assistant, you will provide specialist outpatient clinics, including within the 13 specialist schools across Manchester, attend feeding and swallowing clinics, MDT meetings, and carry out home visits. With regular support from the Children’s Lead AHP, you will benefit from strong links with the hospital dietitians at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, as well as the support of a network of AHP colleagues across the city and children’s dietetics colleagues Trafford Local Care Organisation. The Costs for a DBS At Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), roles that require a DBS check are subject to a cost recovery policy. Person specification Educational Qualifications * BSc. or MSc. in Dietetics or BSc. in relevant science plus Post Graduate Diploma or MSc. in Dietetics * Registration via Healthcare Professions Council * Evidence of relevant post graduate training including attendance at specialist course * Registered member of the British Dietetic Association * Involvement in paediatric interest group Knowledge and Experience * Recent post registration clinical dietetic experience * Up-to-date knowledge of treatment for paediatric dietetic conditions, in particular special needs * Understanding of difference approach to teaching children/carers * Specialist knowledge of dietetic assessment and treatment techniques * Evidence of Continual Professional Development in dietetics.
