- 1 to 2 days per week in the office, remainder remoteClosing Date: 23rd July 2026 (5:00pm)An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to join a busy Transportation team delivering a variety of traffic engineering projects across a London Borough.This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a strong background in highways and traffic engineering who can independently manage projects, supervise junior staff, and ensure schemes are delivered safely, efficiently and within budget.Key Responsibilities? Produce financial estimates, project statistics and payment claims? Monitor project progress, expenditure and programme delivery? Prepare contract documentation including specifications, Bills of Quantities and tender documents? Design and deliver traffic engineering schemes and prepare technical drawings? Interpret surveys, reports and consultation responses? Assess contractor quotations and provide technical recommendations? Supervise contractors, undertake site inspections and monitor quality standards? Prepare technical reports and present engineering advice to internal and external stakeholders? Ensure projects comply with statutory requirements, budgets and quality standards? Support and mentor junior engineers where requiredEssential Requirements? Previous experience working within a Local Authority, Council or Housing Association (ESSENTIAL)? Proven experience delivering traffic engineering or highways projects? Experience preparing technical specifications, drawings and contract documentation? Strong understanding of highways legislation, engineering standards and contract management? Experience managing project budgets, programmes and contractor performance? Excellent report writing and stakeholder engagement skills? Ability to work independently whilst managing multiple projectsWhat's on Offer?? Competitive hourly rate of £42.00
