About Our School

Located in Ipswich, Redstone Hall School has recently opened and has the capacity for up to 30 pupils. The school offers a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5 to 18 with a range of complex needs. We believe in fostering a positive and supportive environment where every child feels valued, respected and empowered. Role Responsibilities

  • Support improvements in wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience and behaviour management within Redstone Hall School
  • Work with members of the education team to support young people's personal and academic development by removing barriers to learning
  • Promote positive learning behaviours among young people
  • Lead classes during planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time and provide absence cover
  • Deliver enrichment activities
  • Support pupils during lessons with their academic understanding and pastoral, emotional or behavioural needs
  • Respond to immediate concerns and clarify the situation
  • Create and collate information relating to lessons and interventions delivered
  • Assist in preparing information for meetings concerning pupils
  • Act as an advocate for the ethos of Redstone Hall School
  • Lead pastoral interventions and review the progress made by young people
  • Develop the role of pupil voice and liaise with the Senior Leadership Team regarding the pupil council
  • Develop relationships with parents and carers, taking an active role in transitions and consultation visits
  • Lead ELSA sessions and complete training with the local authority

Requirements

  • Have a strong basic education, with a minimum of GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, and sound IT skills
  • Have previous experience in a similar role, such as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor
  • Have previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH and/or autism within an educational setting
  • Have experience of using effective behaviour management techniques
  • Be committed to professional development and willing to learn

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Redstone Hall School.
