Corporate Associate / Senior Associate | 4+ PQE | Hertfordshire
An established and highly regarded Legal 500 regional law firm is looking to strengthen its growing Corporate team with an experienced and commercially minded Corporate Solicitor at Associate or Senior Associate level.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team with ambitious growth plans and a strong reputation for delivering high-quality corporate work, including M&A, investments, corporate advisory, constitutional matters and banking & finance.
The team regularly handles complex and high-value transactions, including work that would traditionally be undertaken by larger City and national practices, while maintaining a more personal and collegiate approach to client service.
The opportunity
The successful candidate will play an important role in the continued growth of the Corporate team, taking ownership of matters and leading on transactions while working closely with Partners on more complex and high-value work.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Work on a broad range of corporate transactions, with a particular focus on M&A.
- Take ownership of transactions from instruction through to completion.
- Advise a varied client base across multiple sectors.
- Develop and strengthen direct client relationships.
- Work closely with Partners and benefit from excellent access to senior lawyers.
- Support and supervise junior lawyers and trainees where appropriate.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide a joined-up service to clients.
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of the Corporate team.
Your responsibilities
You will:
- Provide practical and commercially focused advice aligned with clients' wider business objectives.
- Draft, review and negotiate a range of corporate documentation.
- Manage transactions and competing priorities effectively.
- Take responsibility for service levels and client relationships.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm.
- Contribute to business development through networking, referrals, events, written content and social media.
- Support junior members of the team and contribute to their development.
About you
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4+ years' PQE with strong experience in corporate transactions.
- Excellent technical knowledge across a range of corporate matters.
- Strong M&A experience.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
- The ability to manage transactions independently and meet deadlines.
- A commercially minded and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong client relationship and communication skills.
- A genuine interest in business development and developing a personal profile.
- A positive, collaborative and proactive approach.
Experience or knowledge of bank security work or sectors such as pharmacy and care homes would be advantageous, but is not essential.
The firm is also keen to embrace innovation, so an openness to using AI and emerging legal technology would be welcomed.
Why consider this opportunity?
This is an opportunity to join a firm that is actively investing in the future of its Corporate practice, rather than simply replacing an existing position.
You'll benefit from:
- High-quality regional M&A and corporate work.
- Direct access to experienced Partners.
- Genuine client ownership and relationship-building opportunities.
- A collegiate and supportive working environment.
- Realistic and achievable career progression.
- Hybrid and flexible working.
- A firm that actively invests in its people and their development.
- Strong staff retention, with the majority of the current Partners having trained with the firm and built their careers there.
- A comprehensive benefits package.
For someone looking to build a long-term career within a successful regional Corporate practice, this represents an opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility while having the support and platform to continue progressing.
