Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic nurses to take on a specialist role within our Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Team. You will join an established multi disciplinary team of specialist nurses, from a range of professional backgrounds, Consultant Psychiatrists, Assistant Practitioners and Clinical Support Workers, to deliver ADHD assessments and monitor medication, where indicated, to children and young people.

This post is a Band 6 part time position 22.5 hours per week. We will ensure that you have access to internal and external opportunities for development with access to supervision and appraisal.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and organisational skills, who is able to work autonomously and effectively prioritise their workload.

Main Duties of the Job
This is an opportunity for an innovative, dynamic and enthusiastic registered nurse who is looking to expand their knowledge and experience working with children and young people with a diagnosis of ADHD, through the assessment, diagnosis and ongoing management.

You will be working with the child/ young person, their family and other agencies to identify whether the ADHD diagnostic criteria has been met and to ensure that each individual is understood and support is tailored, which may include the prescribing and monitoring of ADHD medication.

Person Specification

Qualifications
Essential
  • Nurse [RMN, RN, HV], Social Work, Clinical Psychology

Desirable
  • ENB 603 or Equivalent
  • ENB 998 [teaching & assessing] or equivalent

Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
  • Working knowledge of specialist therapeutic approaches e.g. CBT, Family Therapy
  • Knowledge of Child Protection workings and practice.
  • Knowledge of Clinical Governance
  • Knowledge of Children related legislation Children's' Act, Children's' NSF
  • Experience of receiving clinical supervision
  • Experience of interagency working
  • Experience of writing, implementing and evaluating Treatment Plans

Desirable
  • Experience of working with Students/Learners
  • Experience of providing Clinical Supervision

Experience
Essential
  • 1 year of working within a CAMHS setting or Child Mental Health related field

Desirable
  • 6 months experience of working within specialist CAMHS
  • 6 months experience of working with a specific therapeutic approach. E.g. CBT, Family Therapy, SFBT.
