Job description

Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) – Part-Time

Surrey | Up to £36,000 Pro Rata DOE

Are you an RVN looking for a practice that truly values its team?

Nurse Seekers are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established, independent veterinary practice seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their friendly team on a part-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive practice where patient care comes first, clinical standards are high, and every member of the team is encouraged to develop and thrive. Whether you're an experienced RVN or looking to continue building your clinical skills in a collaborative environment, this role offers an excellent balance of professional development and work-life harmony.

The Role

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will play an integral role in the day-to-day running of the practice, delivering outstanding nursing care while working closely with the Veterinary Surgeons and wider clinical team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering exceptional nursing care to a varied caseload, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and exotic species.
  • Monitoring hospitalised patients, administering medications and intravenous fluids, providing wound care, and ensuring the highest standards of patient welfare.
  • Preparing patients for surgery, assisting throughout procedures, monitoring anaesthesia, and supporting patients during recovery.
  • Performing a range of in-house diagnostic tests, including blood and urine analysis, recording findings accurately, and highlighting any abnormalities.
  • Assisting with radiography by positioning patients safely and producing high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Providing excellent client care by offering advice on preventative healthcare, nutrition, parasite control, weight management, neutering, and long-term condition management.
  • Maintaining exceptional clinical standards by ensuring equipment is prepared, treatment areas remain clean and organised, and all practice protocols are followed.

About You

To be considered, you'll need:

  • RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A positive, proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a close-knit team.
  • A commitment to continuing professional development and maintaining high clinical standards.

What's on Offer?

  • Salary up to £36,000 pro rata, depending on experience.
  • No out-of-hours.
  • No night shifts.
  • No Bank Holiday working.
  • RCVS membership paid.
  • Generous CPD allowance and ongoing professional development.
  • Company pension.
  • Employee discounts.
  • Supportive independent practice with an excellent team culture.
  • Genuine opportunity to develop your career in a progressive practice.

Working Pattern

This is a part-time position working three – four days per week, with participation in a 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota (8:30am–1:30pm).
