If you're looking to join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of major infrastructure work, this could be the opportunity for you.

\n

Our client is a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure schemes across sectors including highways, water and all things civils. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Planner to strengthen their planning team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid civil engineering background who wants to work on high-value projects while developing their career within a supportive and forward-thinking business.

The Role

As a Planner, you'll be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes throughout the full project lifecycle. Working closely with operational, commercial and design teams, you'll ensure programmes accurately reflect project progress, identify risks and support informed decision-making.

  • \n
  • Identify programme risks, critical path activities and opportunities for improvement.
  • \n
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Commercial teams to develop realistic delivery plans.
  • \n
  • Prepare progress reports, look-ahead programmes and programme narratives.
  • \n
  • Analyse delays and support the assessment of change events and programme impacts.
  • \n
  • Attend planning, client and project review meetings.
  • \n
  • Ensure programmes align with project milestones, contractual requirements and resource availability.
  • \n
  • Support continuous improvement of planning processes and project controls.
  • \n
\n

\n

About You

\n

To be considered, you'll ideally have:

\n
    \n

  • \n
  • Experience working on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project sequencing.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts would be advantageous.
  • \n
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n
  • The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • \n
  • A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
  • \n
\n
    \n
  • Exposure to technically challenging projects using industry-leading planning practices.
