The Opportunity An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join a busy and growing Private Client department covering the firm's Basildon and Thurrock offices. This role offers the opportunity to manage a high-quality and varied caseload whilst becoming an integral part of a collaborative and supportive team. The successful candidate will enjoy genuine autonomy in managing their own files whilst benefiting from the support of experienced colleagues and Partners. There is also excellent scope to further develop client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of an already successful department. This opportunity would suit a confident Private Client Solicitor who enjoys building trusted client relationships and delivering practical, sensitive advice during some of life's most important moments. The Role As a Senior Private Client Solicitor, you will: * Manage your own varied Private Client caseload from instruction through to completion. * Advise clients on Wills, Probate and Estate Administration. * Prepare and advise on Lasting Powers of Attorney. * Provide inheritance tax and estate planning advice. * Build long-term relationships with private clients and their families. * Deliver outstanding levels of client care and communication. * Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Private Client team. * Support the continued growth and development of the department. * Maintain excellent file management and regulatory compliance standards. * Participate in networking and business development opportunities where appropriate. Types of Work Your caseload will typically include: * Wills * Probate * Estate Administration * Lasting Powers of Attorney * Inheritance Tax Planning * Trust Administration * Elderly Client Advice * Court of Protection matters (where appropriate) * General Private Client Advisory Work Candidate Requirements To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have: * Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales. * A minimum of 3 years' PQE within Private Client. * Experience managing your own Private Client caseload independently. * Strong technical knowledge across Wills, Probate and Estate Administration. * Excellent client care and communication skills. * Compassionate and empathetic approach to client relationships. * Excellent organisational and time management skills. * Commercial awareness and a proactive approach. * The ability to work confidently across multiple office locations. * STEP membership or progress towards STEP would be advantageous but is not essential.
