South West London
Full-Time Positions Available
September 2026 Start / Immediate Opportunities
£90–£120 per day (PAYE – no umbrella companies)

Teaching Personnel are working with a specialist Educational Learning Provision (ELP) in the South West London area who are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in September.

This role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD and behavioural needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential.

We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and proactive individuals who want the consistency, progression, and reward of working full-time in a supportive specialist setting where every child's well-being, development, and success are the priority.

The Role – Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant

As a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant within an Educational Learning Provision, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
  • Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and achieve individual learning targets
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, confidence and independence
  • Implementing individual behaviour and support strategies
  • Responding calmly and effectively to challenging behaviour
  • Supporting de-escalation and positive behaviour management strategies
  • Working closely with teachers and the wider school team to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
  • Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  • Promoting safeguarding, well-being and positive outcomes for all pupils

We Are Looking For SEN Teaching Assistants Who:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or behavioural needs
  • Have experience working within an ELP, specialist provision or similar setting (desirable)
  • Are calm, patient and resilient when working in challenging situations
  • Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils and encourage engagement
  • Are passionate about supporting children with additional needs
  • Work well as part of a wider school and multidisciplinary team
  • Bring enthusiasm, professionalism and a positive attitude to every day
  • Are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
