We’re thrilled to be recruiting a Nurture Teacher on behalf of a SEND secondary school, supporting young people aged 11–16. This is a chance to join this school help shape its future

The school supports students with social communication needs, emotional regulation challenges and sensory processing differences, typically associated with Autism.

The Role: Nurture Teacher

As a Nurture Teacher, you’ll deliver high‑quality teaching and learning to students with additional needs, including autism and complex learning difficulties.

You’ll play a key role in helping pupils thrive academically, socially and emotionally using a nurturing, structured and non‑confrontational approach.

There may also be a requirement to work from a nearby satellite site when needed.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Deliver and develop a creative, inclusive curriculum
✅ Work collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team
✅ Plan and deliver short, medium and long‑term learning plans
✅ Set, monitor and review personalised learning targets
✅ Track progress and report to parents and key stakeholders
✅ Contribute to EHCPs, PEPs and LAC reviews
✅ Create engaging, structured lessons that motivate and challenge
✅ Manage behaviour positively and in line with school policies
✅ Stay informed on current best practice in autism education
✅ Be flexible and ready to support across the school where needed

What We’re Looking For

Essential

✔️ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
✔️ Experience working in SEND settings, particularly with ASC
✔️ Strong understanding of the national curriculum
✔️ Proven ability to deliver a differentiated curriculum
✔️ Knowledge of ASC and SEMH needs, including complex presentations

Desirable

➕ Additional SEND qualifications
➕ Experience developing curriculum for learners with SEND
➕ Understanding of co‑occurring conditions associated with autism
