\n Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority for an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the delivery of both Hard and Soft Facilities Management services across a varied operational property portfolio.\n
\n
\n This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced facilities professional to take responsibility for ensuring council buildings are safe, compliant, efficient and well-maintained while managing a dedicated facilities team and supporting strategic property objectives.\n
\n
The Role\n
\n As Facilities Manager, you will lead the day-to-day management of the Council's operational estate, overseeing facilities services, compliance, maintenance programmes, contractor performance and occupier services. You will also play a key role in budget management, sustainability initiatives and the ongoing improvement of facilities operations.\n
\n
Key Responsibilities\n
\n
    \n
  • Lead and manage the Facilities Management team, providing coaching, support and performance management.
    • \n
  • Oversee both Hard FM and Soft FM services across operational buildings.
    • \n
  • Manage planned and reactive maintenance programmes.
    • \n
  • Ensure statutory compliance across all buildings and building systems.
    • \n
  • Monitor health & safety, environmental and operational risks.
    • \n
  • Manage facilities budgets and ensure cost-effective service delivery.
    • \n
  • Oversee contractor procurement, performance and contract management.
    • \n
  • Support asset lifecycle planning and property improvement projects.
    • \n
  • Monitor utilities, space utilisation and operational efficiencies.
    • \n
  • Produce management reports, performance data and compliance information.
    • \n
  • Promote sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives across the estate.
    • \n

\n About You\n
\n We are looking for someone who has:\n
\n
    \n
  • Significant experience within Facilities Management.
    • \n
  • Experience managing both Hard and Soft FM services.
    • \n
  • Previous experience managing teams and contractors.
    • \n
  • Strong knowledge of building compliance, health & safety and statutory regulations.
    • \n
  • Experience managing budgets and financial planning.
    • \n
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • \n
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities within a busy operational environment.
    • \n
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach.
    • \n
Desirable\n
\n
    \n
  • Level 4 Facilities Management qualification (IWFM or equivalent).
    • \n
  • Management qualification (ILM Level 4 or equivalent).
    • \n
  • Experience within Local Government.
    • \n
  • Knowledge of energy management and sustainability initiatives.
    • \n
  • Full UK Driving License.
    • \n
