Job description

Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

Where will you be working?

As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.

Want to come and be a part of it?

What will you be doing?

As Head of Change Management, you’ll lead and shape the organisation’s approach to change, ensuring strategic programmes and transformation initiatives are successfully adopted and deliver lasting business value.

You’ll be responsible for developing and embedding a consistent enterprise-wide change management framework, integrating change activities into programme and project delivery, and ensuring people, process, and cultural impacts are considered from the outset.

Key responsibilities include:

Defining and leading the change management strategy across the portfolio, aligned to business priorities and strategic objectives.

Driving stakeholder engagement, business readiness, adoption, and behavioural change across complex transformation programmes.

Establishing and maintaining change management methodologies, tools, standards, and governance frameworks to ensure a consistent approach.

Partnering with senior leaders, programme teams, HR, and business stakeholders to build alignment, manage change impacts, and maximise value realisation.

Coaching and developing change capability across the organisation, equipping teams with the skills and knowledge to successfully lead change.

Monitoring organisational readiness, adoption effectiveness, and change-related risks, providing insight and assurance to senior stakeholders.

Collaborating across portfolio, delivery, technology, and transformation teams to embed change management into every stage of programme delivery.

Championing a people-focused approach to transformation, helping colleagues embrace and sustain new ways of working.

This is a highly visible leadership role, offering the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide transformation and play a key role in delivering successful, lasting change across the organisation.

What you’ll bring:

Essential

Deep understanding of change management principles, methodologies (e.g. Prosci, ADKAR), and best practices, with the ability to apply them at scale across complex portfolios.

Ability to translate organisational strategy into effective change approaches, ensuring initiatives are aligned to business priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.

Strong ability to engage, influence, and align senior stakeholders, building commitment and ownership for change across business and delivery leadership.

Capability to assess and shape organisational impacts, including operating models, roles, processes, and behaviours required to support successful change.

Expertise in designing and delivering clear, impactful communication and engagement strategies that drive awareness, understanding, and adoption.

Ability to define and use metrics (e.g. adoption, readiness, engagement) to track change effectiveness, inform decisions, and provide assurance at portfolio level.

Desirable

Experience leading change in technology-enabled transformation programmes, with an understanding of how to drive adoption of digital solutions at scale.

Ability to leverage advanced analytics, tooling, and dashboards to provide deeper insight into adoption trends, behavioural change, and organisational performance.

Awareness of industry-leading change practices and the ability to bring in external insight to continuously improve the organisation’s change capability.
