Are you an experienced HCA looking for your next opportunity in acute care?

Join our friendly and supportive Digestive Diseases Unit, where you will work alongside experienced nurses and healthcare professionals to provide high quality care.

A little about the role

You will join our busy 16 bed Digestive Diseases Unit, an acute ward caring for patients with a range of digestive health conditions.

You will work closely with our registered nurses and wider multidisciplinary team to provide safe, compassionate and patient centred care. You will support patients with their personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration and comfort, while always respecting their privacy, dignity and individual needs.

You will also complete routine clinical observations and quickly report any changes in a patient's condition to the registered nurse or nurse in charge.

You will be supported by an experienced and friendly clinical team. This is a good opportunity to use your acute ward experience, develop your practical skills and make a real difference to patients throughout their care.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting patients with personal care, eating, drinking and mobility
  • Checking and recording basic observations
  • Reporting any changes in a patient's condition to the nurse
  • Working closely with nurses and the wider clinical team
  • Protecting patient dignity, privacy and safety
  • Helping to keep the unit clean, safe and well stocked

What we're looking for

You will need:

  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in an acute hospital ward
  • Experience supporting patients with personal care
  • Good spoken and written communication skills
  • A kind, caring and respectful approach
  • The ability to work well as part of a team
