We have an exciting opportunity for anAdvanced Technical Officer in Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust to join thePharmacy Aseptics Department at Pinderfields General Hospital. You will beresponsible for undertaking a wide range of supervisory duties within thePharmacy Technical Services department, supporting the delivery of safe andeffective pharmaceutical services across the Trust and partner healthcareorganisations. You will be managing technical activities to help enhance thequality of patient care, ensuring services are delivered efficiently topatients, wards, and departments. You will support the ongoing development ofyour professional practice by undertaking the Science Manufacturing Technician(SMT) qualification, enabling registration as an accountable professional withthe Science Council for Registered Science Technicians (RSciTech). You willalso be responsible for working independently within your area of expertise,using initiative while accessing managerial support when required. TO undertake the preparation and qualitychecking of aseptic and non-sterile medicinal products, including chemotherapyand parenteral nutrition, by following approved procedures, completing accuratecalculations, and maintaining required technical competencies within controlledenvironments. TO perform supervisory and accuracy checkingduties within Technical Services, including monitoring production processes,reviewing documentation, supporting Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)standards, and ensuring deviations or quality concerns are appropriatelyescalated. TO support the maintenance of safepharmaceutical production environments by coordinating cleaning schedules,monitoring facility standards, ensuring compliance with environmentalrequirements, and promoting safe handling practices for hazardous substances. TO manage stock control activities withinTechnical Services by maintaining accurate records, completing stock checks,investigating discrepancies, supporting procurement processes, and assistingwith the management of specialist and outsourced products. TO contribute to team development and service improvement by mentoringcolleagues, supporting staff training activities, maintaining professionalknowledge through continued development, and identifying opportunities to improve technical processes and working practices. Person Specification Qualifications * NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification/experience. * Experience working within an Aseptic Pharmacy or Technical Services environment. * Knowledge of GMP, quality assurance, and safe aseptic preparation practices. * Strong IT, communication, and workload management skills with attention to detail. * Ability to supervise, train, and support pharmacy staff within a controlled environment..
