Position: SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

A High-Achieving Primary School in Maidenhead is seeking to appoint an experienced and passionate SENCO to join its dedicated leadership team from September. The successful candidate will lead the school's SEND provision, ensuring that pupils with additional needs receive high-quality, personalised support that enables them to make excellent progress both academically and socially.
Working closely with the Headteacher, senior leaders, teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies, you will coordinate effective interventions, oversee Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), monitor pupil progress, and provide guidance to colleagues on inclusive teaching strategies.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SENCO or an ambitious teacher with the National Award for SEN Coordination who is committed to delivering outstanding outcomes for every learner.
Lead and develop the school's SEND provision
Coordinate support for pupils with a range of additional needs
Manage EHCPs, SEND reviews, and statutory processes
Work closely with teachers to ensure high-quality inclusive teaching
Liaise with parents, governors, and external professionals
Monitor pupil progress and evaluate intervention programmes
Support staff through coaching, training, and professional guidance
Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding requirements

Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete it if applicable)
Experience supporting pupils with SEND
Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching strategies
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Desirable
Previous experience as a SENCO
Experience managing EHCP processes and multi-agency working
Proven ability to improve outcomes for pupils with additional needs
Experience leading staff training and supporting whole-school inclusion
