Summary
We are seeking a skilled
Financial Assessment & Inclusion Officer to join our dynamic Adult Social Care Finance team on a 3-month contract. This pivotal role involves conducting both residential and non-residential financial assessments, optimising income for vulnerable residents, evaluating welfare benefit entitlements, and supporting charging arrangements for Adult Social Care services. The role requires collaboration with Adult Social Care, the DWP, care providers, and service users to ensure financial assessments are accurate and comply with legislation, council policies, and performance standards. Proficiency in
ContrOCC and IAS (Liquidlogic) is essential, along with the ability to manage complex financial assessments independently.
Responsibilities
- Conduct residential and non-residential financial assessments.
- Utilize ContrOCC and IAS (Liquidlogic) systems for record maintenance.
- Evaluate welfare benefit entitlements and offer benefit advice.
- Assist service users in maximising income and accessing benefits.
- Collaborate with the DWP to confirm benefit entitlements.
- Perform reassessments and annual financial reviews.
- Conduct home visits to aid service users with financial assessments and benefit applications.
- Assist with Deferred Payment Agreements and related financial calculations.
- Process payments to care providers and service users.
- Manage debtor accounts, invoices, and financial records.
- Support income collection and recovery efforts.
- Maintain precise case notes and audit records.
- Work closely with Adult Social Care teams, care managers, welfare benefits teams, legal services, and external agencies.
- Participate in drop-in sessions, surgeries, and customer appointments.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities for vulnerable adults.
- Contribute to service improvements and performance reporting.

- Proficiency in assessing welfare benefits and entitlements.
- Background in a customer-focused financial, welfare benefits, or income assessment environment.
