Chemical Manufacturing Operations Manager

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance and continuous improvement of manufacturing and operational activities, ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant production, storage and dispatch of products.
The role provides leadership to the Technical Manager, Mixing Supervisor, Pallet Supervisor and Dispatch Coordinator, ensuring all operational departments work collaboratively to achieve customer requirements, operational KPIs and the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency.
As the senior operational leader, the Operations Manager will maintain a strong presence across the manufacturing and warehouse operation, leading by example, driving accountability, challenging poor practices and ensuring all employees operate in accordance with company policies, procedures and Health & Safety legislation.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience managing manufacturing operations within a production environment.
- Chemical manufacturing experience.
- Strong leadership and people management experience.
- Experience managing departmental supervisors and operational leaders.
- Excellent understanding of Health & Safety legislation and operational compliance.
- Experience managing operational KPIs and driving performance improvement.
- Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems (Orderwise desirable).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Desirable
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience leading cross-functional operational teams.
