You'll work closely with consultants, operational colleagues and senior leaders to enhance service delivery, improve patient flow and create a positive experience for patients, staff and stakeholders alike.

As our Manager of Preoperative Assessment and Outpatients, you will:
  • Lead and manage the Outpatients, Preoperative Assessment and Minor Procedures services, ensuring safe, effective and efficient delivery of care.
  • Provide visible clinical leadership, maintaining accountability for clinical effectiveness, patient outcomes and operational performance.
  • Review clinic capacity and utilisation to improve consultant accessibility and maximise service efficiency.
  • Collaborate with consultants and key stakeholders to develop and optimise clinic templates and scheduling.
  • Drive service improvements that enhance patient flow, reduce waiting times and improve the overall patient experience.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of outpatient equipment, ensuring compliance, safety and operational readiness.
  • Use performance data and service insights to inform decision-making, identify opportunities for improvement and support strategic planning.
  • Contribute to business planning, capital investment proposals and future service development opportunities.
  • Lead, support and develop a skilled multidisciplinary team, creating a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance frameworks, regulatory requirements and Nuffield Health standards.
  • Play an active role within the hospital's senior clinical leadership team, contributing to local strategy and organisational objectives.

    • Proven leadership experience, ideally at Team Leader, Department Manager or equivalent level.
    • Strong clinical credibility and a passion for delivering high-quality patient-centred care.
    • Experience leading and developing teams within a fast-paced clinical environment.
    • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
    • A track record of improving services, enhancing efficiency and driving positive change.
    • Knowledge of clinical governance, regulatory requirements and quality improvement methodologies.
    • The ability to analyse performance data and translate insight into practical service improvements.
