Job description

Job summary
The Teesside Children and Young Peoples Community Eating Disorder Service are seeking to recruit CAMHS Clinicians to work within our already established team. The team has developed an Intensive Home Treatment intervention within this service.

The ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team is essential. The post holder will provide evidence-based assessment and treatment-based interventions as part of the clinical eating disorder pathways, and offer input to individuals, their families and carers in clinic and community settings.

The post holder will provide clinical supervision and mentorship to students and junior staff working within the team. There will be the opportunity to participate in service development, audit, research activities, pathway development and ongoing training needs of the clinical teams.

Applicants should hold a professional qualification and have experience of working with children, young people and families.

Candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework (at the point of application).

Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and provides specialist assessments, treatment and interventions for young people suffering from eating disorders.

The post holder will improve the lives of children and young people with mental ill health by minimising the impact of their condition through the delivery of excellent services to promote recovery and wellbeing.

You will be professionally accountable and responsible for patient care, undertaking a range of clinical/therapeutic interventions in patients' homes and other community settings.

The post holder will implement, as appropriate, relevant specialist therapeutic approaches, to complement and enhance existing resources and will promote social inclusion, community access and participation through the provision of patient care.

You will facilitate others in the team to develop competence by providing leadership, day to day supervision, clinical advice and clinical supervision to members of the clinical team and students.

The successful applicant will deliver training and education to other services and outside agencies such as GP practices, school acute hospital settings.

Qualifications
Essential

  • Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area (within agreed timescale)
  • Depending on work area, recognised sign-off mentor (or equivalent) or must be achieved within agreed timescale.
  • 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework (at the point of application)
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)


Desirable

  • Leadership or management qualification
  • CAMHS Degree
  • Certificate in teaching & assessing in clinical practice as appropriate to own profession
  • Recognised qualification in a specific model of therapy e.g. family therapy, CBT etc
  • Recognised training in Facilitation of Parenting Groups

  • Provide leadership and monitor, coordinate and prioritise the activities of a team.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake key worker responsibilities
  • Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers/families and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
