Speech and Language Teaching Assistant – Killingworth (Full-Time)

Protocol Education is recruiting a full-time Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Killingworth. You'll support pupils with speech, language and communication needs, helping them access learning, express themselves and develop meaningful relationships. Working alongside teachers and specialist professionals, you'll play an important part in helping every learner feel heard and understood.

What you'll be doing
- Supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs
- Assisting with targeted communication activities
- Encouraging pupils to express themselves confidently
- Adapting resources and instructions where appropriate
- Supporting communication during lessons and social activities
- Working closely with teachers and specialist professionals
- Monitoring progress and sharing observations with the wider team
- Creating an inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued
What we're looking for
You'll be patient, attentive and able to communicate clearly. You'll understand that every learner communicates differently and be willing to adapt your approach to meet individual needs.

Experience in education, healthcare, SEND or communication support is beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
