About the role

Were looking for a Solution Engineer II to join our Commercial this role youll help articulate the value of our solution and be part of the pre-sales team as we scale Solutions at Pleo. If youre excited about driving sales success by providing technical and accounting expertise and are passionate about B2B SaaS and optimising financial workflows then this is the opportunity for you!

Who youll be working with and reporting to

Youll report to our Solutions Manager and work closely with teams in Commercial. Our team of 3 is highly collaborative dedicated to accelerating the sales cycle and ensuring continuous product improvement. Youll also have the chance to partner with teams across GTM & Product to ensure success.

What youll be doing

As a Pleo Pre-sales Solution Engineer II you will:

• Conduct generic or tailored product demonstrations presentations and workshops.

• Develop and deliver technical proposals RFPs responses trials and Proof of concepts.

• Understand customer objectives technical environment and accounting needs.

• Provide feedback and insights to product and engineering teams.

• Ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to implementation or onboarding.

What you bring

Youll thrive in this role if you have:

• 5 years of experience in a solutions or pre-sales role.

• In-depth understanding of B2B SaaS products APIs and relevant technologies including configuration integrations and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with accounting principles & financial workflows.

• Strong problem-solving skills attention to detail and the ability to think on your feet during customer interactions or changing requirements.

• Excellent planning prioritisation and risk management abilities to handle multiple pre-sales engagements simultaneously.

• A background in demonstrated success in customer-facing roles and relationship-building skills with a customer-centric mindset.

The interview process

We want to ensure you are set-up for success and understand what will be expected of you. If your application is successful our interview process is as follows:

1. Intro call: A 30-minute chat with our Talent Acquisition Partner to discuss the role and your background.

2. Hiring Manager Interview: A 45 minute chat to deep dive into your experience

3. Challenge & Team Interview: We will send you a take home test and invite you to present during a 60 minute team interview. This is an opportunity to show us how you would handle the day to day of the role

4. Final Interview: a 45 minute final interview with our VP of Commercial

We love seeing people leverage AIits a big focus for us internally toobut without human intervention these CVs can sometimes become generic and fail to show a candidate in the best light. What were really looking for is the specific details of real impact that only younot AIknow from your previous experience. A top tip from us is to use the Achieved X as measured by Y by doing Z formula (credit: Laszlo Bock 2014) to give a really clear picture of what youve worked on. A final note: including links to your previous companies websites is a huge help and allows us to truly understand your background.

• Application care: every single application we receive is reviewed by a human (yes hundreds of them) because we believe that candidates efforts should be matched by an equal level of human care.
