We're looking for a proactive and organised Attendance Officer to join our Student Services team. If you're passionate about supporting young people, enjoy working with data, and can build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
As an Attendance Officer, you'll play a vital role in promoting excellent attendance across the College. Working closely with tutors, curriculum teams, and student support services, you'll help identify attendance concerns, engage with students and families, and implement strategies that improve attendance and contribute to positive student outcomes.
This role is a permanent role, 39-week term time only, working 22 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily attendance and follow up on unexplained absences
- Work closely with tutors and curriculum teams to address attendance concerns
- Communicate confidently with students, parents, carers, and external stakeholders regarding attendance
- Analyse attendance data to identify trends and students requiring additional support
- Maintain accurate records of interventions, actions, and outcomes
- Monitor students identified as being at risk and coordinate appropriate support
- Produce attendance reports and provide staff with regular updates, targets, and improvement strategies
- Attend meetings and contribute to initiatives that promote positive attendance across the College
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Experience of working with young people or learners in an education or customer-focused environment
- Experience of maintaining accurate records and using data to monitor performance
- Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and over the telephone
- Strong administrative skills, including experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
- The ability to build positive working relationships with students, colleagues, parents and external agencies
