Job description

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to make a real difference to the lives of our residents, our staff and our communities across Wales.

As our Asset Data and Information Lead Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring that asset-related information is accurate, reliable and accessible, enabling informed decision-making across our organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for data quality, governance and continuous improvement to help shape how we use asset information to support building safety, compliance, investment planning and operational performance

The role can be based at any of our offices in the South (Cardiff), North (Ewloe) or West (Newcastle Emlyn) regions. We offer flexibility in choosing the most suitable base location, while still ensuring strong links with the wider Building Safety and Property Services team. Regular travel between offices may be required at times, but your main working location can be aligned to the area that works best for you.

What you will be doing?

As our Asset Data and Information Lead Officer, you will play a key role in strengthening how asset information is managed and used across the organisation. Working closely with colleagues across Building Safety and Property Services, Operations, Technology and Data teams, ensuring data is accurate, reliable and supports effective decision-making around our homes, services and future investment.

The role involves developing and embedding data standards, governance arrangements and quality controls, while shaping reporting, dashboards and performance insights that support both operational and strategic priorities. You will identify data quality issues, drive improvements and help increase confidence in the information used across the business.

As we continue our digital transformation journey, you will support the move from manual, spreadsheet-based processes to more efficient and robust system-led solutions. Promoting a culture of data ownership and accountability, helping colleagues build confidence in the way information is collected, managed and reported. Through training, coaching and support, you will contribute to better reporting, forecasting and performance, ensuring we have trusted information to deliver great services and make informed decisions for our residents.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who understands the value of high-quality data and can turn complex information into meaningful insight. With experience in asset data, reporting, governance or information management, you will be comfortable challenging the status quo, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving better ways of working.

A strong collaborator, you will build effective relationships across teams and communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders. You'll have experience using reporting tools such as Power BI, a keen eye for data quality, and the ability to balance attention to detail with a focus on the bigger picture.

Most importantly, you'll be passionate about using trusted information to support better decision-making, improve services and deliver positive outcomes for residents. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, influencing change and helping others make better use of data, we'd love to hear from you

What’s in it for you?

In return for your hard work, commitment and innovation, you will enjoy an environment focused on more than just competitive pay. You’ll enjoy:

  • Starting Salary £45,436 per annum.
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing to 30 days with service. The ability to buy and sell leave up to 5 days (pro rata), as well as time off for volunteering, health screening and more.
  • Choice of Defined Contribution or Defined Benefit pension, both including 3x death in service life insurance cover.
  • 9 bank hols, inclusive of an extra day at Christmas!
  • Opportunities to develop and grow.
  • Regular feedback, training and support from your manager and team.
  • Comprehensive support in case of sickness with a generous sick pay scheme, critical illness cover and support through an employee assistance and counselling service and a cash plan benefit.
  • And lots more.

Who are Wales & West Housing Group (WWHG)?

We formed a Group company in 2011, to include Cambria Maintenance Ltd. We employ over 450 staff at WWH and over 190 staff in Cambria, making us a major Welsh employer. As an organisation we adopt a systems thinking approach to the way we manage and deliver our services across the Group; it underpins the way in which we operate.
