Job description

A successful secondary school in the Hampshire area is looking to appoint a committed and detail-oriented Examinations Officer on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a school where every member of staff plays an important role in supporting student achievement. As Examinations Officer, you'll take the lead in coordinating all aspects of the examination process, ensuring assessments are delivered smoothly, securely, and in full compliance with national regulations.

The Role

You'll manage the school's examinations function from start to finish, working collaboratively with staff, students, parents, examination boards, and invigilators throughout the academic year.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and submitting examination entries

  • Organising examination timetables, seating plans, and candidate information

  • Leading the recruitment, training, and deployment of examination invigilators

  • Ensuring compliance with JCQ regulations and examination board requirements

  • Coordinating access arrangements with the SEND department

  • Maintaining secure storage and handling of confidential examination materials

  • Managing results, certification, and post-results services

About the School

This inclusive 11–16 secondary school has established a strong reputation for delivering high-quality education within a supportive and collaborative environment. Staff are valued as professionals, with leaders committed to wellbeing, continuous improvement, and creating opportunities for career progression.

The Successful Candidate

Applications are welcomed from experienced Examinations Officers, Exams Administrators, School Office Managers, Education Administrators, or candidates with strong organisational and administrative skills looking to develop their career within education.

You'll be able to work accurately under pressure, manage competing deadlines, communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders, and maintain complete confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

As part of the school's safer recruitment procedures, references from your current (or most recent) employer and a previous employer will be required before an interview can be arranged.

Salary & Benefits

  • £27,780–£30,564 FTE (pro rata: £24,371–£26,814)

  • Full-time, permanent position

  • September 2026 start

  • 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

  • Local Government Pension Scheme

  • Ongoing professional development and training

  • Supportive leadership and collaborative working environment

Apply

The school is interviewing as soon as suitable applications are received, so early applications are encouraged.

If you're looking for a varied and rewarding role where your organisation and attention to detail will have a real impact on students' success, we'd love to hear from you. Submit your CV today for immediate consideration.
