We're looking for a Programming Assistant! You’ll assist in the delivery and development of a programme of activities and events. By doing so, you’ll help to create an enjoyable experience for everyone that visits and help them understand more about Tredegar House.

Salary: 15,502.50 per annum (pro-rated based on 25,837.50 full-time equivalent)

Contract Duration: Permanent

Working Hours: You will work 22.5 hours per week, including some weekends.

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

Mae cyfieithiad Cymraeg yr hysbyseb hon ar gael yn yr atodiadau.

What it's like to work here

Tredegar House is a busy property, with a wide range of seasonal and cultural events and activities taking place throughout the year. This role is based entirely at Tredegar House, conveniently located just off the M4, a few miles from Newport and approximately 8 miles from Cardiff.

Loved by visitors for its warm welcome, Tredegar House offers a unique and rewarding place to work. You'll be part of a friendly team that is passionate about delivering exceptional experiences for our visitors.

Reporting to the Senior Visitor Experience Officer, you'll play a key role within the Visitor Experience team. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues from a variety of teams and work closely with our dedicated volunteers.

We're proud of the role the Welsh language plays in the places and communities we care for across Wales. Whether you're a fluent Welsh speaker, a learner, or completely new to the language, we'll support you to develop the skills and confidence needed for your role and to engage with Welsh language and culture as part of working at the National Trust.

What you'll be doing

Working with the Visitor Experience and House team at Tredegar, you'll create and deliver events and activities that bring our place to life for our visitors all year round. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. You’ll help link everything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do. You’ll deliver high standards of presentation on site and ensure all our communications with our visitors around the property are clear and consistent. You'll liaise across departments, including working with Facilities, Marketing and Communications, Gardeners and Volunteers.

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all of the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.

Who we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • good communication skills, building relationships with a wide range of people
  • a team player, but can also work by yourself
  • adaptable and have a flexible approach
  • an understanding of the importance of great service
  • keen to learn new things
  • well organised and able to manage time well

The package

The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong.
