Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will provide high-quality primary care services to our patient population, delivering care across a broad range of acute and long-term conditions through face-to-face and telephone consultations. The role consists of three sessions per week (Thursday PM, Friday AM and Friday PM), with 12-minute appointments and dedicated time for clinical administration, prescribing and referrals. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities- Deliver high-quality medical care to the practice population.
- Provide services in line with the GMS contract and relevant enhanced services.
- Assess, diagnose and manage acute and long-term conditions.
- Prescribe safely and effectively in accordance with local and national guidance.
- Process referrals, repeat prescriptions, test results and other clinical administration in a timely manner.
- Participate in the practice triage and duty doctor rota as required.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Attend and contribute to clinical and practice meetings.
- Support the training and development of medical students and other healthcare professionals in training.
Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Qualified General Practitioner
- MRCGP
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent
- Full GMC Registration
- Inclusion on the National Performers List
- Appropriate medical defence indemnity (MPS/MDU) or equivalent
ExperienceEssential- Experience working in Primary Care/General Practice
- Experience managing a broad range of acute and long-term conditions
- Experience of clinical audit and quality improvement activities
- Understanding of the GMS contract
- Experience of prescribing and medicines management
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable- Experience using EMIS Web
- Experience supporting medical students or healthcare professionals in training
- Experience leading service improvement projects
- Experience of QOF and Enhanced Services delivery
