Gas Engineer

Stoke – Covering the local and surrounding areas

£42,235 - £44,458 per year

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled Gas Engineer to join our Gas team, based in Stoke. In this role, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and installation of a range of domestic gas heating systems, including combi, heat-only, and system boilers.

To support you in carrying out your duties effectively, we will provide a fully equipped company van for business use, complete with all necessary power and specialist tools. You will also receive a full uniform and PPE, along with an iPhone and tablet that provide access to our operational systems, including work scheduling, job management, and fault reporting.

The role also includes participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota, typically one week in every four. Further details regarding the on-call arrangements and associated allowances will be discussed during the interview process.

The role of Gas Engineer will include:

  • Service, maintenance and diagnostics of gas boilers, central heating and unvented hot water systems
  • Installation of domestic gas boilers in line with industry standards and regulations
  • Completing and submitting gas safety records, identifying and responding to risks, recording logging and completing work via electronic device tablet or phone
  • Working in a safe and responsible manor, completing job sheets and LGSR certificates on completion
  • Providing accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer, ensuring accurate daily work records are completed
  • Utilising analytical and trade skills to diagnose and repair faults
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed from our partner suppliers

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1, Unvented - G3 Certificate, Water Regulations (WRAS) As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
  • Experience in installing domestic gas boilers is essential, working on Combi - Combi swap, conversions and full heating installations as well as unvented cylinders
  • Proactive approach to work with an ability to have a can do attitude to ensure work is completed to a high standard
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
