Job description

Description

Confused.com

Confused.com is the UK’s first comparison platform for car insurance. We’ve been helping customers since 2002 by empowering them to make better decisions around insurance and financial services.

We’re part of RVU, a group of online brands that include: Uswitch, Tempcover, money.co.uk, and Mojo Mortgages.

We are at the cutting edge of the FinTech industry, so we’re always looking for extraordinary talent. If you love what you do, get in touch today!

What’s the role?
In the role no two days are the same, from being the first port of call for all office related queries, providing support with meetings and events and supporting the wider facilities team on various projects.
We are looking for someone with exceptional communication, administrative skills and strong attention to detail. You’ll be an effective problem solver and someone who strives for continuous improvement.
This is a rewarding role which gives you the opportunity to collaborate with people at all levels within the business. Due to the nature of the role this position is completely office based.

What you'll be doing

What you’ll be doing:
  • Responsible for the day to day management of the office ensuring it remains presentable, being independently able to see where improvements can be made and implement changes.
  • First port of call for staff and contractor queries via various avenues including the Office Management mailbox. Responding to queries or cascading as required.
  • Accountable for in-house provisions and services including - but not limited to - maintaining stock levels of office stationery, refreshments and electronics as required and providing in-house post and courier services.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of office events (internal and external)
  • Providing additional support on technical requirements, capacity requirements and catering.
  • Providing diary management support to staff. As the owner of several office related calendars, provide ad- hoc support to staff with space in the office for meetings and events. Occasionally offering support with external venue booking.
  • Responsible for the procurement and implementation of various office management systems including desk booking and access control. Being the gatekeeper for these systems including creating ID cards and running reporting as and when required.
  • Maintaining Health and Safety standards within the office, including new starter H&S inductions, keeping H&S boards and presentations up to date, conducting periodic checks of the office to ensure staff and visitor safety. Coordinating and managing additional H&S maintenance visits and training.
  • Being a dedicated Fire Marshall and championing training of other employees within this area
  • Responsible for the ongoing management of the DSE platform (display screen equipment).
  • Building professional relationships and work closely with third party contractors to ensure the office remains a legally compliant and safe place to work.

What we're looking for

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential:
  • Detail oriented
  • A self-starter with a solutions-focused approach is essential.
  • Previous administrative experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Flexible and always ready to go the extra mile.
  • A great communicator who is friendly, calm and efficient – even on the busiest days
  • Accurate, thorough, and well organised, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills with experience using G-Suite
You don’t need to tick off everything on this list - so don’t let that hold you back from applying. We want to make sure you’re learning plenty during your time with us!
Our commitment to you

We are dedicated to developing valuable, inclusive, and user-friendly products and services that deliver positive outcomes for all of our customers. To achieve this, it’s essential that our teams reflect the diverse range of people in our community. We believe in being the change we wish to see in the world, by embracing our differences and holding ourselves accountable to being open and inclusive teammates and wider community members.

What we offer

We want to give you a great work environment, support your growth both personally and professionally, and provide benefits that make your time at RVU even more enjoyable. Here are some of the benefits you can look forward to:
  • 10% discretionary yearly bonus and yearly pay reviews (based on RVU and personal performance)
  • Up to 22 working days per year to “work from anywhere”
  • Employer matching pension contributions up to 7.5%
  • A one-off £300 “work from home” budget to help contribute towards a great work environment at home
  • Excellent maternity, paternity, shared parental, and adoption leave policy, for those key moments in your life
  • 25 days holiday (increasing to 30 days) + 2 days “my time” per year
  • Private medical cover, critical illness cover, dental plans, and employee assistance programme
  • Free gym access
  • Employee discounts programme
  • A healthy learning and training budget to support your development
  • Electric vehicle and cycle to work schemes
  • Regular events - from team socials to company-wide events with insightful external speakers, we want to make sure our colleagues continue to feel connected.
We combine the close-knit and agile environment of a start-up with the know-how, technology, and backing of a well-established company.

We use our shared knowledge to empower people and help them make decisions confidently across a range of household services. Our purpose is to simplify complex marketplaces with accessible applications that genuinely improve people’s lives.

The RVU mission is clear: empowering people, transforming industries. With our unique set of brands under the RVU umbrella, we have the power to reach millions of consumers and the technology to deliver a world-class online experience for them.
