Job summary
This is a great opportunity to be a part of an expanding practice, supported by a friendly and committed team. We believe that we work in a different style from many other practices creating excellent patient/doctor relationships and continuity of care, to provide high patient ratings and clinician job satisfaction.

2 Partners 2 Salaried GP and 1 Practice nurse and 2 HCAs

6,300 Patients.

We are part of a local PCN Healthy Hyde through which we provide additional support from a wide range of ancillary clinicians.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking a Salaried GP to work 4 sessions on a fixed term 9 month contract

We are a high performing GMS Practice and have a dynamic team who are forward thinking, and working to find new and smarter ways of delivering health, social and self care.

6,300 patients

We work within Hyde PCN and a close relationship with the local practices

You will work in a supportive, friendly environment with our integrated team of Doctors, Pharmacy Technician, Paramedic, Nursing team and administrative team.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels
  • 01. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
  • 02. To see patients in accordance with the normal pattern of working at Awburn House
  • 03. To undertake home visits and telephone consultations, as well as an equitable share of duty doctor days and also to provide an equitable share of extended access appointments when required
  • 04. To record consultations and patient contacts in a timely and accurate manner on the practice computer system.
  • 05. To regularly monitor results received electronically and act upon them as appropriate.
  • 06. To read incoming mail relating to patients and act upon this in appropriate and timely manner.
  • 07. To initiate referral letters in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • 08. To deal with patient notes, messages and administrative matters as required.
  • 09. In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols developing care plans for health.
  • 10. To undertake reports other administrative duties, as required.
  • 11. To process prescriptions daily, as required.
  • 12. To liaise with members of the Practice team to ensure patient care and satisfactory administration of the Practice.
  • 13. To liaise with the Practice Manager in relation to ongoing administrative matters, holidays absences and other matters related to the smooth running and organisation of the Practice.
  • 14. To undertake tasks related to QOF, and liaise as necessary with the Practice team in order to fulfil these tasks.
  • 15. To attend Practice, Clinical, In-House training and administrative meetings wherever possible.
  • 16. To undertake any reasonable task as necessary to the efficiency of running the Practice.
  • 17. This list is not exhaustive, but covers the main tasks associated with the role of a Salaried GP.

Essential

  • Already qualified as a General Practitioner
  • Registered GP with the GMC
  • Must possess the right to work in the UK and be on the NHS Performers List
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to provide quality care.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Advanced IT Skills

Desirable
  • Knowledge of EMIS web medical system
