About Us:
Optima Health is the UK's largest provider of Occupational Health and wellbeing services, supporting organisations across both the public and private sectors. With a heritage dating back to 1947, we have been helping employers create healthier, high-performing workplaces for generations, and we continue to evolve with innovative, practical solutions that make a real difference.

At the heart of our story are our people. We bring together like-minded professionals who are passionate about improving workplace health and wellbeing and delivering meaningful support to the organisations we work with across the UK.

When you join Optima Health, you become part of something bigger. We invest in our people/you through structured induction, ongoing training and tailored career development, helping you build the skills and experience to grow your career.

Role Summary:
The role will require you to provide occupational health services to an e-commerce company on a floating basis throughout the North East (Durham, Darlington, Middlesborough, Newcastle, Stockton, Gateshead) with all other working days remote. Any onsite days covering the client will be 1pm-9pm. All non onsite days will be typical office hours. Due to this being a floating cover for when the need arising, we cannot specify how many times per week you will be onsite. Due to the site locations, the post holder must hold a driver's license and have access to a vehicle.

More about Occupational Health Physiotherapists:
Occupational Health Physiotherapy focuses on the relationship between health and work, with the aim of identifying and addressing barriers that may impact an individual's ability to remain in or return to work.

In this role, you will use your core clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage patients in line with NICE guidelines, HCPC standards, and CSP best practice. A biopsychosocial approach underpins all assessments, supported by strong clinical reasoning, use of flag systems and validated outcome measures to guide diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning.

You will carry out initial assessments (remote and face-to-face), deliver evidence-based interventions, and support individuals through self-management and exercise-based rehabilitation. Hands-on treatment is not always required, with a greater focus on education, movement, and practical strategies to support long-term recovery.

The role also involves producing clear reports for employers, providing advice on functional capacity and workplace adjustments, while ensuring transparency as employees have access to this information. Where treatment is needed, it is typically short-term, with regular reviews to monitor progress and outcomes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate, detailed, and appropriate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to employees on a remote or face-to-face basis.
  • Identify, assess, and advise on any workplace hazards or contributing factors to Musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Conduct workplace assessments such as DSE or work-based tasks as and when required and provide advice and recommendations as appropriate.
  • Always maintain clinical objectivity and impartiality in line with occupational health guidance.
  • Deliver effective evidence-based rehabilitation that adheres to national clinical standards.
  • Utilise a bio-psychosocial approach combined with functional assessment to address barriers to work and inform robust work recommendations.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required for the Role:
  • Clinical Physiotherapy Qualification.
  • Minimum of 18 months experience post registration in the UK
  • Full Member of the CSP & Registered member of HCPC is essential.
  • Previous experience or an interest in Occupational Health Physiotherapy.
  • Strong MSK experience
  • Driver license & access to a vehicle.

What Can We Offer You?
  • 25 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays
  • Buy and Sell Holiday Scheme
  • Life Assurance
  • Pension Scheme
  • Health Cash Plan
  • Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme
  • Volunteer Days
  • YuLife Employee Benefits Platform
  • Save As You Earn Scheme
