The role:

As the Therapy Specialist you will work as part of a Team to provide clinical educational and technical support to Healthcare Professionals with Baxters range of products within the low mid and high acuity setting Med/Surg wards and ICU. The primary focus of this role is to coordinate and provide clinical & educational support alongside product knowledge supporting our beds surfaces safe patient handling equipment and low acuity vitals. You will be the key clinical contact in nominated accounts to support Baxter in achieving its commercial and sales objectives as well as being part of the Therapy Specialist Team building and executing UK wide educational support and strategies.

You will have a sound understanding of assigned therapies and protocols pressure injury prevention Falls and Early Mobility supporting medical professionals through education with Baxter solutions to improve patient outcomes.

This role is field based covering the Manchester/Leeds region and there may be a requirement for extensive travel. You will work closely in your Regional Teams supporting prioritised clinical product evaluations and organisation wide system installations as well as ongoing clinical training and support to maintain and grow Baxters existing customer base and portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

  • Acting as primary clinical resource for the account managers you will identify and nurture relationships with key clinicians and potential product advocates in particular Tissue Viability Nurses falls leads Mobilisation/Moving and Handling teams.
  • Identify and develop key opinion leaders and rising stars to create a network for development and involvement of evidence generation and quality improvement programmes opportunities for case studies endorsements and/or clinical papers.
  • As a subject matter expert you will provide in field and remote clinical & technical support to multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the correct use and application of Baxters products and solutions to improve patient safety efficiency and outcomes.
  • Attend pre-planned training days to provide full in-service training on Baxter products and solutions pre- and post-sale.
  • Maintain accurate training records of key personnel pertaining to procedural device operation.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the workflows and specialities of each hospital and business relationship e.g. through customer meetings participation at Conferences and exhibitions meetings with account managers regional and national sales meetings - identifying key decision makers and stakeholders to facilitate & develop future sales opportunities.
  • Respond to complex customer needs resolving issues proactively regarding products and services by developing creative feasible solutions or working with other key personnel in Baxter including sales marketing clinical research and technical support.
  • Attend regular meetings with your account managers to plan and execute business and account plans.
  • Contribute to Baxters marketing projects by staying up to date with the latest clinical evidence and competitor markets.
  • Record accurate customer information and activities in the Companys CRM system.
  • Support revenue opportunities through clinical roadshows clinical ward walks audit activity recommending service or replacement where appropriate.
  • Complete data analysis and subsequent reports to gain customer commitment and improve sales.
  • Produce and deliver training materials appropriate to the customer and Baxter solutions.
  • Maintain a knowledge of competitor products evidence and positioning and provide comparative clinical performance data to the sales and marketing teams.
  • Facilitate internal product training as the need arises.
  • Attendance & networking at Conferences/Exhibitions/Trade Shows to set-up support market & demonstrate Baxter products and solutions.

Education and experience:

Essential:

The role requires you to have an RGN or similar Professional Healthcare qualification as well as current NMC registration or equivalent.

You will have experience working within the Healthcare environment ideally a post graduate qualification in Tissue Viability or wound care as well as knowledge and understanding of the current NHS and Private sector.

You will have an understanding of the stakeholder groups in the assigned Therapy areas and be confident in dealing with customers in a variety of different situations as you will be holding demonstrations presentations and ward visits on site.

Proficient in Microsoft Applications: Word Excel PowerPoint

This role is field based therefore you will hold a full UK Driving Licence and be comfortable with overnight stays as and when required.

The ideal candidate will have:

A deep understanding of the NHS workflows stakeholder groups buying processes.

Clinical experience within speciality Tissue viability safe mobility and falls prevention.

An understanding of the close relationship between outstanding education and technical expertise solution selling for commercial success.

You should possess strong interpersonal skills empathy and teamwork along with good business acumen and commercial awareness.

Demonstrable experience delivering training and education to individuals and larger audience.

Strong networking skills where teamwork and influencing stakeholders are key to success

Ability to analyse data and simplify clinical evidence for various audiences and the ability to work autonomously.

Proficient at building robust relationships at all levels within the NHS.

Good organisational & planning skills

Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment and a willingness to travel.
