We are seeking compassionate, dedicated and experienced Complex Care Support Workers to support a young man in his 20s living at home with his parents and two sisters in the Ilford, London area.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a young man with complex health needs. He is non-verbal but fully understands what is happening around him and communicates through his eyes, facial expressions and body language. He enjoys carers talking to him throughout their shifts, explaining activities and providing visual cues to help him understand what is happening.
About the ClientOur client has complex neurological and physical health needs living at home with family. Due to limited mobility, specialist moving and handling techniques must be followed at all times, so confidence is key to be successful within the role. You will be supporting the client with daily living activities, nutrition, and complex health needs, including the management of frequent seizure activity. Support workers must be confident in recognising seizure presentations, following seizure management protocols, monitoring recovery, and responding appropriately to emergency situations in line with the individual's care plan. The ideal candidate will be calm under pressure, attentive to detail, and committed to delivering safe, person-centred care while providing reassurance and engagement throughout each shift.
