Job SummaryAt Manor Park Care Home, we believe outstanding care continues around the clock. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (Nights) to join our clinical team and help ensure residents receive exceptional care, comfort and reassurance throughout the night.
As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting residents' physical and emotional wellbeing, using your clinical expertise to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care. Working alongside a skilled and supportive team, you will oversee clinical care during night shifts, respond to changing needs and provide professional leadership to colleagues while promoting dignity, respect and independence for every resident.
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working autonomously, demonstrates strong clinical judgement and is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of older people.
Main duties of the job- Plan and lead a diverse range of activities including arts and crafts, music, games, gardening, exercise sessions, and themed events.
- Build strong relationships with residents to understand their interests, preferences, and abilities.
- Organise special events such as birthday celebrations, seasonal parties, and visits from entertainers.
- Support residents living with dementia through tailored sensory and cognitive activities.
- Coordinate outings and community engagement opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continuously improve the activity programme.
- Work collaboratively with care staff and families to ensure activities are inclusive and meaningful.

Job responsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse (Nights) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for residents with a range of healthcare needs. The postholder will exercise professional accountability in accordance with NMC standards and ensure care is delivered safely, effectively and compassionately.
The role requires excellent clinical knowledge, strong organisational skills and the ability to make informed decisions independently. As the senior clinical presence on shift, the Registered Nurse will provide guidance and support to colleagues, promote best practice and contribute to maintaining a safe, calm and responsive environment throughout the night.
The successful candidate will be committed to person-centred care, continuous improvement and delivering an exceptional resident experience.
Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- We welcome applications from Registered General Nurses (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) who possess a valid NMC PIN and a commitment to maintaining professional standards.
PersonalEssential- Compassionate, enthusiastic, and proactive in delivering exceptional care.
- Experience in a nursing home or similar care setting (preferred but not essential).
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work autonomously during night shifts.
- A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of residents.
