Job description

Hotspot Complex Needs Practitioner (Gambling Treatment Team)

Location: Community-based across identified hotspot locations across the West Midlands
Working Hours: 37 hours (full-time)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £27,751 – £29,942

Make a real difference in your community.

Are you passionate about supporting people with complex needs to make positive, lasting changes in their lives? Do you believe in delivering compassionate, person-centred support that empowers individuals to achieve their recovery goals?

We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Hotspot Complex Needs Practitioner to deliver targeted support within communities experiencing higher levels of gambling-related harm. Working flexibly across identified hotspot locations, you'll engage people who may not otherwise access treatment, building relationships with local organisations and delivering early intervention, outreach and person-centred support.

About the Role

As a Hotspot Complex Needs Practitioner, you'll combine outreach, engagement and case management to support individuals affected by gambling-related harm. You'll work within communities, alongside partner organisations and local stakeholders, helping to identify unmet need, increase awareness and improve access to specialist treatment.

This is a highly rewarding role for someone who enjoys building partnerships, working creatively and making support more accessible to those who need it most.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver proactive outreach within identified hotspot communities.

  • Build relationships with community organisations and referral partners.

  • Manage a caseload of individuals requiring intensive support.

  • Deliver evidence-based interventions and recovery planning.

  • Increase awareness of gambling-related harm through engagement activities.

  • Promote access to treatment and wider support services.

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development.

To Succeed in This Role, You'll Need

  • Experience working within gambling support, substance misuse, mental health or another health and social care setting.

  • Experience supporting people with complex needs and managing a varied caseload.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions including CBT, MI and recovery-focused practice.

  • A good understanding of safeguarding, risk management and partnership working.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong organisational and IT skills.

  • A flexible and proactive approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support.
