A Good Secondary School in Slough is looking to appoint a dependable and hardworking Site Assistant to join its friendly premises team. Working alongside the Site Manager and wider premises team, you will assist with routine maintenance, minor repairs, health and safety checks, site security, porterage duties, and preparing rooms for lessons, meetings, and school events. You will play an important role in ensuring the school operates efficiently on a daily basis.
This is a hands-on position that would suit someone who is practical, reliable, and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
Assist with the daily maintenance and upkeep of the school site
Carry out minor repairs and basic DIY tasks
Support the opening and closing of the school premises
Complete routine health and safety and compliance checks
Assist with site security and access control
Prepare classrooms and communal spaces for school activities and events
Liaise with contractors and report maintenance issues
Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across the school

Essential Requirements
Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or site support role
Good practical DIY and maintenance skills
Understanding of health and safety procedures
Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
Experience working within a school or educational setting
Knowledge of building maintenance and site security procedures
Health and safety qualification such as IOSH or equivalent
Experience working with contractors and maintenance schedules
