Due to continued growth within our Spectroscopy Products Division, we are seeking a Project and Technical Design Administrator to play a key role in supporting engineering design and change management activities. Working closely with designers, engineers, project leads and operational teams, you will help coordinate design changes, maintain project documentation and support the successful delivery of products and projects.


This varied role offers exposure to project coordination, technical administration and cross-functional collaboration, making it ideal for someone who enjoys organisation, problem-solving and making a tangible impact within an engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate and facilitate design changes across engineering teams, using Renishaw’s engineering change management system to efficiently drive design change.

  • Providing support to the engineering leads with preparing and presenting information required for review meetings.

  • Work alongside Purchasing, Material Control and Specials teams to support these areas with their function and data requests.

  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and project managers to define the scope of design changes, identifying all affected parts, divisions and stakeholders.

  • Ensure that all design changes are accurately documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders.

  • Facilitate effective communication between departments to communicate design change status and ensure seamless implementation of design changes.

  • Actively drive design changes to completion by assisting users with open tasks to ensure change is being actioned efficiently.

  • Identify and mitigate any potential risks associated with design changes.

  • Driving simple design changes through Teamcenter and NX.

  • Collate lessons learnt, providing suggestions to improve processes and performance within the division.

  • Utilise skills to support purchased part inspections, concession administration, material management, compliance data, VRMAs.

Key requirements

  • Keen eye for attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Adept in organisation and multitasking to track multiple open design changes across different projects.

  • Be a confident and comfortable communicator

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Educated to A level (or equivalent) standard, supported by GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science.

Desirable requirements

  • Prior knowledge and understanding of engineering change management processes and assembly bill of materials structure.

  • Exposure to Teamcenter and NX software packages.

  • Understanding of project management.

As a Project and Technical Design Administrator, you’ll enjoy being involved in the detail that helps engineering projects succeed. You will support design teams in implementing changes, help colleagues navigate processes efficiently, and take ownership of varied technical and project-related activities.

You’ll be a confident communicator who enjoys working with people across different teams, functions and manufacturing sites around the world, using your organisational skills to bring clarity and momentum to design change activity.

A flexible and proactive attitude will help you build broad experience across design support, project coordination and technical administration, while contributing to continuous improvement within the division.
