- Interest in quality improvement and service development.
- Experience using EMIS Web.

Main Duties of the JobThe successful candidate will:
- Provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services.
- Conduct face-to-face, telephone and online consultations as appropriate.
- Manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Participate in clinical meetings and practice development activities.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records.

- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and achievement of contractual requirements.

Job ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities:- Provide general medical services to registered patients during scheduled clinical sessions.
- Undertake face-to-face, telephone and video consultations as appropriate.
- Assess, diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with NHS and local prescribing guidelines.
- Refer patients to secondary care and other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
- Review pathology results, correspondence and clinical documents.
- Undertake home visits where required.
- Promote preventative healthcare and health education.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records using the clinical system.
Patient Care:- Deliver safe, effective and compassionate healthcare.
- Ensure continuity of care whenever possible.
- Support patients in making informed decisions regarding their care and treatment.
- Safeguard vulnerable adults and children in accordance with local and national policies.
Quality and Governance:- Participate in clinical governance activities.
- Contribute to Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) achievement.
- Support quality improvement and audit projects.
- Report significant events and participate in learning activities.
- Maintain compliance with GMC standards and practice policies.
Multidisciplinary Team Working:- Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, physician associates, healthcare assistants and administrative staff.
- Attend practice and multidisciplinary team meetings as required.
- Contribute to the development of integrated patient care pathways.
Administrative Responsibilities:- Process clinical correspondence, pathology results and prescriptions within agreed timescales.
- Complete medical reports and statutory documentation when required.
- Maintain accurate clinical coding and record keeping.
Teaching and Development- Participate in continuing professional development (CPD) activities.
- Maintain annual appraisal and GMC revalidation requirements.
General Responsibilities:- Comply with all practice policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times in accordance with GDPR and NHS guidance.
- Follow health and safety requirements.
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the post.
Person SpecificationEssential:- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Full GMC registration with license to practice.
- Included on the NHS England Medical Performers List.
- MRCGP or equivalent qualification.
- Experience of working within UK General Practice.
- Demonstrable clinical competence across the breadth of general practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Effective IT and clinical record keeping skills.
- Patient-centered approach.
- Professional, reliable and flexible.
- Commitment to continuous learning and development.
- Ability to manage workload effectively.

- Interest in a clinical specialty.
- Experience in teaching, training or mentoring.
