About the role

• This is a full-time role (35 hours per week) however flexibility in this will be considered
• We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
• The base location for this role is Innovate House, Balliol Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8EW

What you'll do

As a Shop Maintenance Team Leader, you'll:

• Lead and support a team of Planners to deliver excellent service to our shops and customers
• Monitor team performance through regular 1:1s, coaching, quality assurance checks and development plans
• Manage attendance, absence, wellbeing and conduct in line with company policies and procedures
• Ensure reactive and planned maintenance work is planned, logged and progressed in line with agreed service levels
• Support the escalation and resolution of reactive maintenance issues, ensuring effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Build strong relationships with Engineers, contractors, retail teams and internal customers
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, service delivery and team performance
• Review workloads and resource allocation to ensure operational demands are met
• Support training, onboarding and continuous development across the team

About you

You'll fit right into this role if you can demonstrate:

• Previous experience leading, coaching or developing a team
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
• Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills
• Confidence managing performance, attendance and wellbeing conversations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to make decisions, solve problems and drive improvements
• A results-focused approach with high attention to detail
• The ability to build positive working relationships at all levels
• A willingness to learn, develop and help others succeed
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, with experience of working on CAFM systems specifically being advantageous
