  • Full-time role working 37.5 hours per week
  • Ten-week rolling rota, covering just two weekends out of every ten
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Up to 5 days additional holiday purchase scheme
  • Life insurance
  • Pension scheme
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Two paid volunteering days each year
  • Access to a comprehensive rewards platform offering discounts at retailers, restaurants, gyms and more
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Opportunity to work for a well-established organisation with a fantastic team culture

Duties

  • Undertake maintenance within the residences in a safe working environment, assessing all Health & Safety risks before work commences and reporting any hazards to the relevant Manager.
  • Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with Service Level Agreements, providing first-line response for plumbing and mechanical repairs.
  • Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities in line with the maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain accurate records of breakdowns, repairs and statutory compliance documentation.
  • Liaise with specialist subcontractors when required.
  • Carry out statutory testing including PAT testing, fire alarm testing, fire door testing and other compliance checks.
  • Support the wider maintenance team with general PPM and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Report Health & Safety concerns promptly, ensuring all relevant information is communicated appropriately.
  • Assist at different sites when required and work additional hours, with notice, during peak student arrival and departure periods.

What you'll need

Essential

  • Previous experience working in a plumbing and maintenance environment.
  • Good knowledge of plumbing and mechanical building services.
  • Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance.
  • Understanding of building services systems and safe working practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and the ability to work safely at all times.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A flexible approach with the willingness to support colleagues and work across different sites when required.

What's next?

If you have the experience we're looking for and are ready to join a friendly, supportive organisation that offers excellent benefits and long-term career opportunities, we'd love to hear from you.
