Specialist Practitioner and Supervisor MHST & CWP - CFHD We are excited to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated 1.0 wte Band6 Specialist Practitioner and Supervisor (trainee or qualified) to joinChildren and Family Health Devon within our Mental Health Support Teams (MHST)and Child Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) services. This rewarding role sits within our early interventionpathway, supporting children and young people experiencing mild to moderatemal health difficulties, including anxiety and low mood. The MHST Specialist Practitioner andSupervisor post also contributes to the development of whole-school and collegeapproaches to emotional health and wellbeing across education settings. For applicants who are not yet qualified supervisors, weoffer the opportunity to undertake the Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) inClinical Supervision of Psychological Therapies Practice at the University ofExeter as part of the role. Our MHSTs include Education Mental Health Practitioners(EMHPs) and Child Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs) delivering evidence-basedinterventions within schools and community settings. As a SpecialistPractitioner and Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting staffpractice, maintaining high standards of care, and helping shape an evolving andinnovative service model. Main duties of the job As a Specialist Practitioner and Supervisor, youwill provide clinical supervision and professional support to EMHPs and CWPsworking within the MHST and CWP pathways. You will help ensure children and young peoplereceive safe, effective, and evidence-based low intensity interventionstailored to their needs. Key responsibilities include: Providing clinical supervision and reflectivepractice to EMHPs and CWPs Supporting practitioners to deliverevidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health difficulties Contributing to the development and delivery ofthe MHST early intervention pathway Supporting whole-school and college approachactivity in partnership with education settings Promoting safe, effective, and consistentclinical practice across the service Contributing to service development and qualityimprovement initiatives within a growing and evolving model Working collaboratively with colleagues acrossChildren and Family Health Devon and partner agencies Maintaining accurate clinical records and usingroutine outcome measures to support care and evaluation Participating in supervision, training, andongoing professional development opportunities We are looking for individuals who are passionate aboutearly intervention, collaborative working, and improving emotional wellbeingoutcomes for children and young people. Please refer to your suitability to the post in your supportinginformation from the role requirements or person specification Person Specification Qualifications * A professional qualification at degree level or equivalent (Psychological profession, Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Social Worker etc.) or successful completion of the post-graduate EMHP (or CWP) CYP-IAPT training. * Active registration or appropriate accreditation with professional body (NMC, HCPC, BACP, BABCP) or registration with the appropriate body when this is possible for Li-CBT post- graduate qualifications. * Completion of parallel IAPT supervisor training programme within first year of taking on the post if this is not already in place * Training to level 2 in Safeguarding Adults and level 3 in Children and Young People: roles and competencies for Health Care staff * Recognised qualification in evidenced based therapeutic intervention for children/young people and their families/carers Experience * Working within a community mental health setting * Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment * Experience of delivering CBT-informed interventions and supervisionEssentialApplication Form / Interview * Substantial proven experience of delivering CBT * Substantial experience of managing an extensive and complex caseload and working with children/young people presenting with a range of moderate to complex mental health presentations * Providing clinical supervision * Participation in user involvement in services * Mentoring students in line with professional requirements * Experience working within Early Intervention and Prevention Services * Experience delivery training to a diverse audience * Experience presenting to a large and diverse audience Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
