This is a specialist role where you’ll work as a clinical expert within a multidisciplinary team, delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care to individuals undergoing treatment for age‑related macular degeneration and other retinal conditions. You’ll have the opportunity to work both autonomously and collaboratively, supporting the continued development of nurse‑led ophthalmology services. Shift Pattern A range of shifts based at our Bamber Bridge clinic. What youll be doing As Our Ophthalmic Nurse Injector, You Will Be * Performing intravitreal injections (IVI) for AMD and other macular conditions in line with clinical protocols. * Assessing, planning and delivering high‑quality patient care within a specialist ophthalmology setting. * Working autonomously while remaining accountable for your clinical practice and decision‑making. * Acting as a clinical expert and role model, supporting and advising colleagues within the multidisciplinary team. * Ensuring patient safety, dignity and wellbeing at all times through a person‑centred approach. * Supporting service development, audit and continuous improvement initiatives. * Contributing to training and education within the team and supporting the development of others. * Maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with governance and regulatory standards. What well look for in you As a Registered Nurse, Orthoptist or Optometrist with relevant ophthalmic experience, you will also have: * Experience in ophthalmology, with a strong interest in macular services and injection therapy * Competency in intravitreal injections, or willingness to undertake training * Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient‑centred approach * Strong understanding of clinical governance and commitment to high standards of care * A proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to travel between sites as required What You Can Expect In Return * A competitive salary depending on your skills and experience * Work 37.5 hours * No on‑call, no night work or working on bank holidays * An extensive range of wellbeing and lifestyle benefits * 25 days holiday increasing with service plus bank holidays * Mandatory training through our excellent in-house education programme * The support you need to grow in your role and continue your professional development Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
