Finance Assistant

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional to support the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting across inventory, sales, and project accounting working closely with the Finance Manager.

Job description:

Main Purpose of the Job is to ensure accurate financial records and reporting across inventory, sales,

and project accounting, supporting the Finance Manager with month-end tasks and reconciliations,

advance finance reporting projects to provide more insight to wider business.

What you will be doing

• Preparation of month end reports/journals for Inventory, Sales and COGS, plus any others reasonably required by the business
• Support Technical Services business unit with project accounting such as:Project InvoicingPassthrough Costs
• Maintain the purchase ledger and ensure all invoices are processed via SAP concur ready for payment
• Maintain the sales ledger and ensure invoices are sent out and paid to terms
• Maintain all email inboxes, respond and action as required
• Prepare the weekly submissions and monthly reconciliation to the invoice discounting bank
• Maintain the Fixed Asset register ensuring additions and disposals are recorded on a timely basis, preparing the depreciation journal monthly
• Reconcile balance sheets, bank accounts and credit cards monthly
• Prepare and post cash book in Sterling, Euros and US Dollars and reconcile the bank accounts
• Prepare and post monthly journal prepayments, provisions & accruals etc
• Support and assist the Finance manager in the preparation of the monthly accounts
• Reconcile import VAT statements on a monthly basis
• CHL accounts posting monthly journals and produce monthly accounts
• Support the annual external audit as required
• To carry out other reasonable duties as requested by the Finance Manager and management.
• To advance the current reporting being provided to financial and non-financial departments.
• To liaise with other department managers and senior management on cost centres and financial reporting ensuring ability to communicate financial results to non-financially trained personnel
• Take ownership of advanced reporting improvements once implemented

Compensation:

£30,000 - £35,000 dependant on experience.

Location:

You will be based in Hove, Conway street with 3-minute walk to the train station and a busy part of the city.

Flexible homeworking arrangements may be available, subject to requirements.
