Job description
Job Summary
We are seeking an exceptional and motivated Lead Nurse for the cardiac catheter Laboratories to provide professional, clinical, and strategic leadership across our urgent and elective interventional pathways. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and driving continuous service improvement.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, operational managers, and medical colleagues, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our cardiology intervention service delivers outstanding outcomes, meet national standards, and provides an excellent patient experience.

This role is full-time 37.5 hours for 12 months fixed term contract.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide visible clinical leadership and direct expert clinical care across acute and elective interventional pathways.
  • Lead the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care that reflects national best practice and evidence-based standards.
  • Support the achievement and maintenance of key performance indicators, national, local and regional audits, and quality standards.
  • Drive service improvement initiatives, innovation, and transformation programmes.
  • Lead workforce planning, staff development, recruitment, and retention strategies.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, quality improvement, and professional excellence.
  • Work collaboratively with Medical, Nursing, Health Care Scientist, Operational Senior Leaders, Executive colleagues and System Partners to deliver strategic objectives.
  • Ensure robust clinical governance arrangements, risk management, and patient safety processes are embedded throughout the service.
  • Act as a professional role model and advocate for patients, carers, and staff.
