About the Role

We are looking for an experienced care professional with a

background in paediatric and complex care, who can provide safe, compassionate

support while building a positive and trusting relationship with the client.

Full specialist clinical training will be provided.

The client has a range of clinical needs and communicates

through behaviours rather than verbal communication. The successful candidate

will play a vital role in supporting their health, safety, wellbeing, and daily

routines while promoting a positive and engaging environment.

About Me

I attend school and I am working towards increasing

the amount of time I spend in school. I enjoy using my iPad, chew

toys, and a variety of sensory toys. I am active and enjoy going out

and about with my family.

I need carers who are supportive, responsive, and able to

understand my individual needs. Experience working with children and supporting

attendance in educational settings is important.

How I Communicate

  • I would like you to understand and respond to my communication attempts.
  • I would like to be involved in decisions about my care as much as possible.
  • I benefit from staff communicating openly with both me and my parents to help meet my needs.
  • It can be difficult for me to reliably communicate when I am happy, sad, uncomfortable, or in pain, so I need carers who take the time to get to know me well.
  • I enjoy exploring the world around me and benefit from hearing new voices and meeting new people.
  • I would like ongoing support to develop my visual skills.
  • I have a variety of toys and sensory resources that can be used to support my development and engagement.
  • There are no known concerns with my hearing, so please talk to me during care activities, daily routines, and play sessions.

What I Need From My Carers

  • A calm, patient, and engaging approach.
  • Experience supporting children with complex needs.
  • An understanding of non-verbal communication and behaviour-based communication.
  • Encouragement and support to attend and engage in school activities.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with me, my family, school staff, and healthcare professionals.
  • Consistent, person-centred support that promotes my wellbeing, development, and independence wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred care tailored to the client's

individual needs

• Support with jejunostomy tube feeding and management of a

gastric drain

• Monitor and care for a Port-a-Cath

• Undertake blood glucose monitoring

• Follow epilepsy and seizure management protocols

• Follow sepsis protocols and escalate concerns

appropriately

• Provide full personal care, including continence support

• Accurately document care provided and clinical

observations

• Build a trusting relationship and understand the client's

communication through behaviours

• Work collaboratively with family members, school staff,

and healthcare professionals

What We Offer

Specialist clinical training and ongoing development

Consistent shifts with the same client

Clear career progression opportunities 24/7 clinical support

Refer-a-friend bonus of up to £250

Requirements

Essential

• Minimum 6 months' UK care experience

• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)

• Previous experience supporting children with complex

behaviours that may challenge

• Confident supporting tube feeding and following clinical

care plans

• Knowledge of seizure management and epilepsy protocols

• Calm, patient, and playful approach to care

• Adaptable and able to work effectively across both day and

overnight shifts

• Comfortable working within both home and school

environments

• Reliable, consistent, and committed to building positive

relationships

• Professional, compassionate, and person-centred approach

to care
