About the role
15 hours per week.

As Clinical Governance Co-ordinator, you will support the leadership team in the management and oversight of the hospices clinical governance framework. This will include helping to co-ordinate incident reporting and investigation processes, supporting audits and quality improvement activity, maintaining risk registers, assisting with policy development and preparing governance reports for committees and leadership teams.

You will also support compliance with internal assurance processes and regulatory standards, including CQC requirements, and help ensure that learning from incidents, complaints, feedback and audits is captured and shared effectively.

Main duties of the job
  • Supporting the management and oversight of clinical governance processes across the hospice.
  • Co-ordinating incident reporting processes and supporting investigations.
  • Assisting with audits, data collection and the reporting of quality metrics.
  • Maintaining risk registers and supporting risk assessment processes.
  • Supporting policy development, review and implementation.
  • Monitoring compliance with CQC standards and internal assurance processes.
  • Supporting complaints and feedback processes, ensuring learning is captured.
  • Preparing governance reports for committees and leadership teams.
  • Supporting training and awareness relating to governance and patient safety.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, learning and openness.
  • Supporting information governance and data quality standards.
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Job responsibilities
  • The Clinical Governance Co-ordinator will support the delivery of high-quality, safe and effective care across the hospice by contributing to the clinical governance framework.
  • The role involves coordinating governance processes including incident reporting, audit, risk management, policy development and regulatory compliance.
  • The postholder will work closely with clinical and non-clinical teams to promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning and patient safety.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Registered healthcare professional or relevant healthcare professional background
  • Degree level qualification

Key Skills and Abilities
  • Strong organisational, communication and IT skills
  • Ability to analyse data and produce reports
  • Ability to work under pressure with deadlines
  • Quality improvement training

Experience
  • Appropriate level of experience within a healthcare setting
  • Understanding of clinical governance, audit, risk and quality processes
  • Experience in using PSIRF approach
  • Experience in hospice or palliative care
  • Experience of CQC inspections
  • Experience using SystmOne or similar systems
